What is 3M Cooling Film?
A highly reflective film for vehicle roofs. 3M says it reflects over 85% of solar radiation, releases heat naturally, and can lower interior temperatures by up to 10°F. It was introduced in September 2026.
Does it go on windows or the whole truck?
No. It is applied to roofs only. For glass, 3M recommends pairing it with 3M™ Automotive Window Film Crystalline BLK 80, and we can quote both.
What vehicles is it for?
3M aims it at last-mile delivery vehicles, refrigerated trucks and trailers, rail vehicles and passenger transportation. We confirm the fit for each vehicle before quoting.
How much cooler will my truck actually be?
3M claims up to 10°F cooler interiors and roof surfaces up to 10–30°F cooler, depending on application. Your result depends on the vehicle, roof color, condition and how the truck is used. A pilot on a few trucks is the best way to measure it.
Will it save fuel or energy?
3M says the film reduces cooling demand without adding power, but it has not published a fuel or energy savings figure, and neither will we. Measure it in your own fleet.
How long does installation take?
3M designed the film to minimize downtime, but times depend on the vehicle. We’ll give you an estimate with your quote.
What warranty comes with it?
3M provides a five-year warranty that includes reflectivity. We’ll give you the 3M warranty details when the job is done.
Do you work with fleets and single trucks?
Both. Fleets can start with a pilot. Owner-operators can send one vehicle and a roof photo.
Where do you work?
We serve South Florida. Tell us your city in the quote form and we’ll confirm.
